The SIT staff includes:
 |
Host
Tom Wilson, a Detroit attorney and former DJ in his other
life. Let's face it, Tom is old and has personal knowledge about
this nostalgic stuff. His favorite game was "Kick the Can." |
 |
Alison
Harris, who graduated from Albion College with a degree
in Communications and is presently working toward a masters
degree. She speaks French fluently and has traveled extensively
in South Africa. She is heard regularly on the Big Band shows
and is the host of the "Make Believe Ballroom," a
nostalgic show featuring the bands of today playing the music
of yesterday. She loves to swing dance. |
 |
Sarah
Swanson, who graduated from the University of Michigan with
a degree in Communications. She has been on SIT for more than
eight years and loves trying to stump Tom with obscure facts
about Big Bands. |
 |
Heather
Novak, a senior at Wayne State University, where she majors
in Media Arts & Studies. She is an accomplished organist,
and in 2000 won first place as the Outstanding Young Organist
in the United States contest sponsored by the American Theater
Organ Society. She won third place in the world competition
later that year. She is heard on many of the SIT Big Band shows
and on the "Make Believe Ballroom" programs. |
Deceased
staff members still heard on SIT:
Ed
McKenzie, aka Jack the Bell Boy, was Detroit's top
DJ in the 1940s and 1950s. Ed recorded many special
shows for SIT, featuring his personal insight into the
musical personalities of his day.
Dick
Osgood was known as the Dean of Detroit Radio. He
recorded many special stories about his early days of
radio. Dick shared an office with the Lone Ranger and
used to cut up with Edith Fern Melrose, Detroit's Lady
of Charm.
Bill
Kennedy was a famous radio and TV personality in
the Detroit area. He was also in more than 60 movies.
Bill recorded many snippets of his memories of the show
world of his day, and he'd tell you about his movie
days if you encouraged him. |
